U.S. News and World Report Rates FHSD K-8 Education Top in State
U.S. News and World Report has placed all six Forest Hills School District elementary schools and Nagel Middle School among the top in the state. According to its most recent rankings released this month, the organization rated Nagel in the top 7% of middle schools in the state and all six elementary schools in the top 9% in the state.
To determine its exact ratings, U.S. News and World Report looks primarily at state assessment data by evaluating which schools had large shares of students rated as proficient or above proficient in math, reading and language arts. The organization also takes into account some measure of socioeconomic demographics to measure how well school districts are serving all students. The results for elementary and middle schools come at the heels of a stellar State Report Card and outstanding Niche ratings for FHSD. Niche also scored FHSD an overall grade of an A and ranked our teachers as the 8th best in the entire state.
