Repair and maintenance work on Turpin's pool is complete and the pool will re-open for the 2019-2020 swim season.

The pool's surface has been re-finished to stop paint from flaking into the water. A mechanical room malfunction that prevented the pool from filtering properly has also been repaired. The pool is now fully functional and safe for use.

The Board of Education approved the repair work during its August meeting. The project was paid for through the district's permanent improvement fund, which is only used for maintenance and repair work, and costs stayed within the $68,138 bid.

At Anderson High School, engineers have confirmed that a leak exists in the pool, and the process to find and repair the leak will require additional time; therefore, Anderson’s pool will remain temporarily closed. When work on the pool begins, it will be paid for through the district’s permanent improvement fund. Anderson’s swim and dive team, as well as Nagel’s swim team, will practice at Turpin’s pool until Anderson's pool is repaired. Coaches will continue to keep students and parents updated throughout this process.
