Turpin, Anderson students represent well at national aspiring teacher conference

A group of Forest Hills students traveled to the nation’s capital in June and made a big impression at the annual Educators Rising National Conference. Several students placed in the Top 10 for various competitions among the best and brightest aspiring teachers across the country.

The Teaching Professions Academy sent nine students from Turpin High School and five from Anderson High School to the national conference. In order to qualify for competition, every student needed to first place in the Top 5 in the state of Ohio.

Educators Rising is a national organization devoted to developing a new generation of highly skilled educators by guiding young people on a path from high school through college and into their teaching careers. The National Conference brings students from across the country together for networking opportunities, educational breakout sessions, presentations from national education leaders and competitive events that allow students to showcase their teaching skills.

Turpin was represented by Lauren Anderson, Matthew Carpenter, Libby Crouse, Erin Curry, Lily French, Sara Knake, Laney Marcum, Izzy Stutzman and Miki Wolfford.

Anderson was represented by Frannie Arlinghaus, Grady Bryant, Sami Ellis, Cassie Machesky and Maddie Northcutt.

JV:
**Semi-Finalist/4th place - Lesson Planning & Delivery STEM, Miki Wolfford (‘24)
**2nd place - Exploring Admin Careers, Matthew Carpenter (‘24)

Varsity:
**Semi-Finalist/7th place - Researching Learning Challenges, Lily French, Libby Crouse, Sara Knake (‘23)
**White Ribbon/3rd place (Bronze) - Project Vizualize Service Project, Laney Marcum (‘23)
