Resignation and Vacancy on the Board of Education

Forest Hills School District Board of Education President Bob Bibb shared the following message with all district families and staff members on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Dear Forest Hills Families and Staff,
Forest Hills School District received the resignation of Board Vice President Katie Stewart yesterday evening. Mrs. Stewart will be moving to a home outside the school district and submitted her resignation in accordance with state law and related residency requirements.
I want to thank Mrs. Stewart for more than three years of service to our school district in her role as a member of the Board of Education and for her dedication and commitment to this community.
Under Ohio Revised Code, the remaining members of the Board of Education are tasked with selecting a new member to fill this vacancy through the end of the current calendar year. We are asking members of the community to please share your interest in this position so we can find a suitable candidate to fulfill the responsibilities of this important public office.
According to Ohio law, people serving on Ohio school boards must be district residents, registered voters in the district and at least 18 years old. Anyone interested in serving on the Forest Hills Board of Education should submit a resume and a one-page letter of interest to Treasurer Alana Cropper. The Board requests that applicants include in their letter of interest information about any experience or interactions they have had with FHSD and an explanation of why they wish to fill this position on the Board of Education.
Individuals can share the requested materials by emailing alanacropper@foresthills.edu or dropping materials off at FHSD Central Office at 7946 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, OH, 45255.
All materials must be submitted by Monday, March 17, 2025 at 1 p.m. in order to be considered for the vacancy. The Board intends to meet later that day to begin reviewing materials and considering candidates. Ohio law requires the Board to name a replacement within 30 days of the vacancy occurring, and any related meeting notices will be posted to our website here.
Any candidate agreed upon by the four current members of the Forest Hills Board of Education will serve until January 1, 2026. Our community will elect a Board Member to serve a full term beginning January 1, 2026 in the upcoming November election.
Sincerely,
Bob Bibb
FHSD Board of Education President
