Public Invited to Turpin High School Dedication Ceremony

The Forest Hills School District invites the community to a dedication ceremony at Turpin High School on Saturday, May 4th at 11:30 a.m in the auxiliary gym. Turpin High School is located at 2650 Bartels Road in Cincinnati.

The ceremony will celebrate Turpin’s recent renovations that provide students with enhanced learning environments and improved technology in school. The building is also now energy-efficient, more secure, provides more handicap accessibility and a better traffic flow. Students will benefit from consistent temperatures and better lighting, plumbing, windows and ventilation.

Originally built in 1976, Turpin High School had begun to show its age. 20 of 23 of its mechanical and structural systems needed to be repaired or replaced, as independently assessed by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission. In 2014, Forest Hills taxpayers approved a bond issue that made it possible to renovate Turpin High School and provide improved academic environments for students.

“This would not have been possible without the generosity of our strong and vibrant community, and this building is something we can all be proud of,” said Superintendent Scot Prebles. “Forest Hills wants to maintain the highest standards in excellence across all of its schools, and investment in school buildings and infrastructure ensures the highest quality of education is provided,” he said.

Following the dedication ceremony, the public will have the opportunity to tour Turpin.

“Our community united to support these students and provide them with the learning environment they deserve,” said Forest Hills Board of Education President Randy Smith. “The district worked diligently to maintain excellent financial standing and earn excellent bond ratings, which resulted in saving taxpayers more than $1 million. These renovations will serve students for decades to come, and I want to thank our wonderful community for partnering with us,” he said.

In addition to the dedication ceremony, Turpin High School will unveil its Honor Wall. This space, located in the school’s new athletic entrance, honors alumni, faculty and support staff who served or are currently serving in the military.
