Help Build Hope 2023 Invites FHSD Families to Build Homes and Support Community

Sep 20, 2023

Nagel Middle School is excited to host Help Build Hope for a community service event to build the framework for two Habitat for Humanity homes in Cincinnati. The event will take place on Friday, September 29 from 4 - 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 30 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m at Nagel. Families from all FHSD schools are welcome to register and attend this wonderful opportunity to construct positivity and demonstrate that every moment matters.

Help Build Hope is a program that collaborates with Habitat for Humanity and Fuller Centers for Housing along with institutions, such as churches, schools and companies, to build the wall frames for future homes. The Help Build Hope event on September 29 and 30 will work with Habitat for Humanity in starting the process of constructing two homes that will eventually reside on Betts Avenue in Cincinnati. Habitat is a nonprofit organization that spans more than 70 countries to help build homes for those in need. Using the wall frames constructed with Help Build Hope, the organization can begin their projects with a head start.

The Help Build Hope 2023 House Build at Nagel kicks off on Friday, September 29, which includes pre-cutting the lumber in preparation for the construction on Saturday, September 30. Dinner is provided Friday evening. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday.

Anyone in the community ages five and up is welcome to participate in this fantastic opportunity. No construction experience is required, and all tools and materials will be provided. However, it is highly recommended that participants wear close-toed shoes and bring protective work gloves and sunscreen.

This is a fantastic event to meet others in the area by helping build a solid foundation for families who plan to be a part of the Cincinnati community!
