Fundraising begins for AHS logo and brand transition
Forest Hills Families and Staff,
I’m following up today to share additional information regarding the retirement of the Anderson High School logo and what the next steps will look like. While there are still many details to work through, here is what I know at this time.
First and foremost, I want to emphasize that this transition will happen in phases. This process began this afternoon, and will be led by a steering committee.Subcommittees will focus on Communication, Timeline and Selection Process, Honoring the Past, Branding and Fundraising.
We have had several questions regarding what the fall will look like at Anderson High School. Keeping in mind that this will be a significant and deliberate phase out and will take time, we will focus on the most immediate and attainable needs first.
This includes:
- Removing and updating signage in and around the Anderson High School prior to students returning to the campus in August.
- Purchasing the materials necessary to prepare our students to successfully and comfortably participate in school-related activities
- Immediately phasing out administrative items inside the building prior to the start of school.
As mentioned during the July 2 Forest Hills Board of Education meeting and in my earlier communication, the district’s intent is to rely on private donations to the greatest extent possible.
Should you have an interest in assisting with Anderson High School’s immediate needs as it relates to the retirement of its logo, you can donate here.
The next steps include organizing the AHS Logo and Brand Committee and finalizing the timeline in which the former logo will be phased out. As additional details are finalized, I will keep you updated.
Respectfully,
Scot
