FHSD welcomes new Sherwood Elementary assistant principal

Jun 26, 2019

Forest Hills School District welcomes a new assistant principal to Sherwood Elementary School for the 2019-2010 school year. During its June 24th meeting, the Forest Hills Board of Education approved the recommendation of Scot Prebles, superintendent, to appoint Matthew Patterson to this role.

Patterson brings 16 years of educational experience to Sherwood. He comes from Mariemont City Schools, where he held positions as an intervention specialist and gifted coordinator. Patterson also worked as an intervention specialist at Lakota Local Schools.

"We are truly excited for Matt to join the Sherwood community,” said Sherwood Principal Dan Hamilton. “During Matt's 16 years as an educator, he's shown the ability to work with students who have a wide-range of abilities and lead various groups at the building and district level. He brings a positive energy, cares about community and will be a positive addition not only to Sherwood, but to the Forest Hills School District.”

In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree from Miami University, Patterson holds a master’s degree from Walden University and an administrative license from Xavier University.

I am very excited to bring my experience to Sherwood Elementary School,” Patterson said. “The welcome I have received from the Forest Hills community has been fantastic and I can’t wait to meet the staff, students, and parents of Sherwood in the upcoming school year. I am happy to be an Archer!”

Patterson will replace Tiffany Selm, who accepted a principal role with the Milford School District.
