FHSD School Resource Officers Honor Veterans with Read-Along
In recognition of Veterans Day, the School Resource Officer team at Forest Hills School District created a read-along of America’s White Table by Margot Theis Raven. The story helps younger readers learn about the significance of an empty table setting that is reserved to honor service members who are missing in action (MIA) or prisoners of war (POW).
Each year, FHSD schools recognize Veterans Day and honor the service and sacrifices made by military veterans and those currently serving. The district’s elementary and middle schools organize special events, activities and tributes for local veterans, engaging students in recognizing this important day.
