FHSD Gears Up for the 2025 Science and Innovation Fair
Forest Hills School District is excited to once again host the annual Science and Innovation Fair this school year. It will take place at Nagel Middle School on January 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Science and Innovation Fair will have two different pathways for students to submit projects. These pathways are either the Science Fair, open to students in grades 5-12, and the Innovation Fair, which is open to all students K-12.
Special thank you to the Forest Hills Foundation for Education for sponsoring the Science and Innovation Fair!
Science Fair
The Science Fair allows students to explore a more formal scientific format with more specific requirements to adhere to when submitting a project. Students are able to examine scientific and STEM-based concepts through an experiment with the opportunity to display their findings to community judges, receiving feedback and a score.
Students who participate in the Science Fair are eligible for the University of Cincinnati’s Southwest Ohio Engineering and Science Expo and State Science Day. Please note that signing up for FHSD Science Fair does not register students for the UC Expo or State Science Day, as they have separate registrations.
Review the Science Fair Handbook to get started.
Innovation Fair
The Innovation Fair has a more open-ended format for projects. These can expand beyond STEM concepts to include projects related to arts, computer science, design thinking and more. Students can utilize their problem-solving skills to identify a problem and develop a solution through a maker project. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to explore their interests, get creative and receive verbal and written feedback from community judges. Participants in the Innovation Fair will not receive a formal score.
