The district's goal is to provide families with support and resources that might be beneficial as we all work together to help students realize their full potential.
Each Parent Academy will include at least one featured presentation on an in-demand topic. The featured presentations for February are:
- Beech Acres Parenting Center presents “Why Can’t My Child Stay on Task?” Understanding age-appropriate expectations and methods to help your child stay focused and complete tasks effectively.
- OSPREY Anderson leads a discussion titled “We Read It…So You Don’t Have To” on the acclaimed book "The Anxious Generation" by Jonathan Haidt. The book is described as "the generation-defining investigation into the collapse of youth mental health in the era of smartphones, social media, and big tech—and a plan for a healthier, freer childhood." Check out the related flyer below.
FHSD Village Connections will host a session about camps and activities during summer break for families of students with special needs. High school students will also be able to participate in a mock interview workshop, which will include 1-on-1 interviews with local professionals.
Parent Academy Night will be held at Nagel Middle School from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25 and we hope you will be able to attend! Thanks to generous support from the Forest Hills Foundation for Education, child care and a light meal will be provided to those who register.
