FHFE Now Accepting Applications for PTO Community Grants

Applications for PTO Community Grants are now open for Forest Hills parents and students. The Forest Hills Foundation for Education raises funds to support and enrich the learning experience of FHSD students and prepare them to compete successfully now and in the future. To that end, FHFE wants to hear from their key stakeholders–students–to identify projects that can be funded in their schools to enhance their educational experience.
Past projects funded by PTO Community Grants include outdoor seating at Sherwood Elementary School, computers for Anderson High School’s student newspaper The Raptor Report, support for the elementary Destination Imagination teams and support for the first ever Nagel Dance Team.
Grant proposals must be approved by the school principal and PTO president. Students can feel free to submit a proposal individually or as a group or class. They are encouraged to think about an initiative they would like to undertake for their school, or consider a project they are currently working on that could benefit their classmates and school with grant funding. FHFE provides grants to FHSD, teachers, parents and students through the PTO that promote wellness, provide initiative opportunities for learning and create community connections for all students.
Applications are due February 28. Grants will be awarded in March.
