District-Wide All In Collection Grants Opportunity to Give Back
All FHSD schools will be participating in the All In Collection Drive this year to benefit IPM Food Pantry. Each school will be gathering donations of non-perishable food items and personal care products for IPM, which serves the local community and nearby counties. This is a great opportunity to positively impact your 20 square feet by serving and supporting others.
The collection will take place October 16-20 at all FHSD schools and is coordinated by the Forest Hills Council of PTAs and PTOs. Donations may be dropped off at any FHSD school or bought electronically through the Amazon Wish List. Online donations are also accepted through the IPM online giving link. If using IPM’s donation link, be sure to mark in tribute that the donation is for the All In Collection Drive.
IPM Food Pantry is seeking non-perishable food items and hygiene supplies, such as:
- Cereal
- Pasta
- Canned meats
- Canned vegetables
- Canned fruit
- Granola bars
- Box potatoes
- Stuffing
- Peanut butter
- Jelly
- Personal care items
Please avoid donating items in glass containers.
Anderson High School implements the All In Collection Drive into their Freshman Day of Service. The school has been collecting food for the entire month of October and will continue until the Freshman Day of Service on October 24. They have their own Amazon Wish List for this event. All items donated through this link will be sent to AHS and assembled into Power Packs by ninth grade students as part of their day dedicated to giving back. The Power Packs will then be sent to IPM Food Pantry.
Along with in-school and online donations, AHS students gather donations on the weekends. Student volunteers stand at the Anderson Kroger (7580 Beechmont Avenue) on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to collect even more items for Power Packs. They will be present at this Kroger every weekend through October 15, which is another fantastic opportunity to donate.
