Community Members Invited to Tour FHSD Facilities
The Forest Hills School District invites the public to tour district properties during a three-day period in September. The building showcase includes all Forest Hills schools, the district’s Central Office and the Operations Center.
“In 2014, our generous community passed a bond issue that was used for the sole purpose of renovating eight schools and replacing Wilson Elementary,” said Superintendent Scot Prebles. “These buildings now better support students with environments that foster academic achievement, and this is something the entire community can be proud of,” he said.
The schedule for the showcase is as follows:
Thursday, September 19 from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m:
Anderson, Ayer, Maddux, Mercer, Nagel, Sherwood, Summit, Turpin and Wilson

The Operations Center, located at 3652 Round Bottom Road, houses the district’s fleet of school buses, bus mechanic garage, and maintenance department. The buses were previously located at Anderson High School and the move was necessary for improved safety, space for student parking, new traffic patterns, and the science wing expansion.
The Central Office, located at 7956 Beechmont Avenue, provides staff with the needed space to develop innovative learning programs, accommodate professional development, consolidate record storage, and more.
“In addition to the nine schools, we invite the public to visit the Operations Center and the Central Office on these days,” said Prebles. “Staff in all 11 locations work together to serve and support our students, and we are looking forward to sharing all facilities with the community,” he said.
