The Forest Hills Board of Education has taken the first step to approve a 6.9 mill combination levy for the May ballot. The Board voted unanimously to approve a Resolution of Necessity at its Budget Hearing / Organizational Meeting on Thursday, January 5, 2023. This measure includes a 5.4 mill operating levy and 1.5 mill permanent improvement levy which equals $20.13 per month for a home valued at $100,000.

This is the first part of a two-step process required to include a levy on the ballot for voter consideration. Now that it has passed, the Resolution of Necessity is submitted to the Hamilton County Auditor for review. After receiving the resolution back from the auditor, the Board would then be required to pass a Resolution to Proceed and submit it to the Board of Elections by February 2, 2023 in order for any levy to appear on the May ballot. You can view the meeting agenda and resolution on the FHSD BoardDocs page.
